AM Demodulation
In AM demodulation, a detector which is a non -linear device is required to demodulate the intelligence from the carrier wave. The diode conducts only in one direction, removing the negative portion of the signal.
Since a transistor has a PN diode junction, they not only serve as a AM demodulator, but also as an amplifier.
